Levels

Foundation is the starting point for Academy development. It is designed to introduce members to the fundamental skills, knowledge and principles of their chosen area.

Foundation workshops are suitable for members who are new to a subject as well as members who want to establish a strong base before progressing further.

Members should leave Foundation training with a clear understanding of the basic techniques, terminology, responsibilities and expectations associated with the pathway.

Development builds upon the foundations already established. Members begin to apply their knowledge and skills in more detailed and realistic situations.

Development workshops can involve greater practical involvement, more challenging exercises and increased feedback from Academy coaches.

Members at this level are expected to begin demonstrating greater independence and understanding.

Advanced training is designed for members who have developed a strong understanding of their pathway and are ready for more specialist development.

Sessions may involve complex match situations, advanced techniques, tactical decision-making, leadership responsibilities or more detailed assessment.

Advanced members may be required to complete practical or knowledge-based assessments before progressing further.

Elite is the highest Academy level and is intended for members who have demonstrated advanced knowledge, ability and commitment.

Elite opportunities can focus on specialist performance, advanced tactics, leadership, high-level officiating or other advanced responsibilities.

Entry to Elite opportunities may require completion of previous levels, successful assessments or an appropriate recommendation from an Academy coach or instructor.
