Welcome to the WFA Academy
The WFA Academy is the official learning, coaching and development centre of the Winn Family Association. It has been created to provide members with a structured way to improve their cricket, develop new skills, gain knowledge, build confidence and progress through a range of training opportunities.
The Academy is designed to be much more than a collection of individual coaching sessions. It provides a complete development system in which members can choose an area they would like to develop, follow an appropriate pathway, attend workshops, complete assessments and work towards recognised Academy achievements, certificates and qualifications.
Whether a member is picking up a cricket bat for the first time, looking to improve an established skill, wanting to become a captain, interested in umpiring or looking to support the wider WFA, there should be an opportunity within the Academy to learn and progress.
Why the Academy exists
The WFA Academy exists to make development accessible, organised and enjoyable for members of the Winn Family T-20 League. Cricket development should not stop when a match finishes. The Academy gives members the opportunity to continue learning outside of fixtures and to work on specific areas of their game or responsibilities within the organisation.
The Academy also provides a consistent approach to development. Rather than members having to work out what training they should attend next, the Academy provides pathways and levels that explain what can be learned, what should be completed and what opportunities are available afterwards.
A place to learn and develop
The Academy welcomes members with different levels of experience. Some members may want to develop their batting, while others may be more interested in bowling, fielding, leadership, officiating, welfare or other areas of the WFA.
Every pathway is designed to provide a clear development journey. Members can start at an appropriate level, attend relevant workshops, receive guidance from Academy coaches and instructors and gradually work towards more advanced opportunities.
The Academy experience

Book
A typical Academy journey may begin with selecting a pathway and booking a workshop. After booking, the member receives confirmation and a unique QR code for the session.
Attend
When the member arrives, the Academy coach scans the QR code to confirm the booking and record attendance. The member then takes part in the workshop and may receive feedback or complete an assessment depending on the session.
Progress
Afterwards, the member's Academy record can be updated to show the completed workshop, achievement or qualification. This creates a continuous record of development that members can access through their Academy account.
Our future vision
The long-term vision for the WFA Academy is to create a complete digital and practical development centre. As the WFA grows, the Academy can introduce more workshops, specialist coaches, online learning, assessments, certificates, digital badges, development plans and advanced pathways.
The Academy will continue to develop alongside the Winn Family T-20 League, providing members with opportunities to learn not only as players but also as leaders, officials, volunteers and supporters of the organisation.
