Meet the WFA Academy team

The WFA Academy is supported by coaches, instructors and other qualified members who help deliver its training and development programme.

Academy coaches are responsible for creating positive, organised and useful learning environments where members can develop their skills and confidence.

01 — Specialisms

Specialist coaching

Different coaches may specialise in different areas. A coach may focus on batting, bowling, fielding, wicketkeeping, fitness, leadership, umpiring or another area of Academy development.

This allows members to access training from people with relevant experience and knowledge.

02 — Profiles

Coach profiles

Each Academy coach can have a profile on the website. Profiles can explain the coach's role, areas of speciality, Academy pathways, relevant qualifications and workshops they deliver.

This allows members to understand who will be leading their session before they book.

03 — Responsibilities

The coach's role

Academy coaches are responsible for preparing and delivering their sessions, supporting participants, providing appropriate feedback and maintaining professional standards.

Coaches can also contribute to assessments and progression decisions where their role requires it.

04 — Feedback

Following appropriate workshops, coaches can provide feedback through the Academy system. Feedback can help members understand what they are doing well and what they should continue working on.

The aim is to make coaching constructive, encouraging and focused on development.
