Behaviour, warnings & code of conduct for the Winn Family League
The Winn Family T-20 League is built on respect, sportsmanship, and fair competition. All players, officials, and supporters are expected to conduct themselves in a positive and respectful manner at all times. Good behaviour on and off the field is essential to maintaining the integrity of the league.
The Winn Family T-20 League is founded on the principles of respect, integrity, sportsmanship, and fair competition. While we all enjoy healthy rivalry and competitive spirit, the foundation of our league is family, unity, and mutual respect. Every player, official, volunteer, and supporter shares responsibility in maintaining a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
Cricket is a game built on tradition and honour. Winning is important — but how we play the game matters even more.
Expected standards of behaviour
All participants are expected to:
- Treat teammates, opponents, umpires, and spectators with courtesy and respect
- Accept umpire decisions without dissent
- Encourage fair play and positive team spirit
- Play hard but within the rules and spirit of the game
- Support a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment
- Represent the Winn Family League with pride both on and off the field
Good behaviour extends beyond match day. Communication in group chats, social media posts, and league events must also reflect respect and sportsmanship.
Unsportsmanlike conduct
The following behaviours will not be tolerated:
- Arguing with or verbally challenging umpires
- Disrespecting or taunting opponents
- Excessive or intimidating appealing
- Use of foul, abusive, or offensive language
- Aggressive behaviour, whether physical or verbal
- Deliberate time-wasting or gamesmanship
- Any conduct that brings the league into disrepute
This league is competitive — but never at the expense of respect.
Warning & disciplinary system
03 — Three stagesTo protect the spirit of the competition, the league operates a structured warning system.
First offence
- Official verbal warning issued by the umpire or league official
- Incident recorded for league records
Second offence
- Formal warning
- Possible match penalty (e.g., penalty runs, temporary removal from the field, or other sanctions deemed appropriate)
Serious or repeated offences
- Immediate suspension from the match
- Possible suspension from future matches
- Review by the Winn Family Association
- Further disciplinary action where necessary
Serious misconduct (including abuse, threats, or physical aggression) may result in immediate removal without prior warning.
Authority & review
The Winn Family Association reserves the full right to review any incident at any time. Decisions made in the interest of fairness, safety, and maintaining the spirit of the league are final.
All disciplinary decisions are made not to punish, but to protect the integrity of the game and ensure the league remains enjoyable for everyone.
Respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators is mandatory.
This is more than just cricket. It is about family, respect, competition, and shared memories. Every match is an opportunity to demonstrate character, leadership, and sportsmanship.
We celebrate great performances. We accept defeat with dignity. We compete fiercely. But above all — we respect the game and each other.
