The countdown is officially on! With just 60 days remaining until the Winter Cup 2026, the road to another unforgettable tournament has begun.
WINTER CUP 2026 | 20–23 DECEMBER 2026 | WINNSTON PARK
The countdown begins!
The wait is getting shorter! Today marks a major milestone as we reach just 60 days to go until the Winter Cup 2026, bringing us closer to four days of cricket, competition, teamwork and unforgettable moments at Winnston Park.
The Winter Cup has become an exciting opportunity for players to come together outside the main league season and compete for another piece of silverware. With winter cricket returning this December, teams will have the chance to test their skills, represent their sides and make their mark in a competition where every match matters.
For players, supporters, officials and everyone involved in the Winn Family T-20 League, the countdown is a reminder that the next big cricketing occasion is approaching fast. There is plenty to look forward to, and the excitement will only continue to grow as we move closer to the opening match.
Four days. Six teams. One Winter Cup.
From 20 to 23 December 2026, Winnston Park will host the Winter Cup, bringing six teams together for a tournament packed with competitive cricket.
The planned competition format will give teams the opportunity to face one another in a T-5 format, with each side looking to collect valuable points and build momentum throughout the tournament. With three points available for a win, every result could make a difference to the standings.
A short-format tournament brings its own challenges. There is less time to recover from a difficult over, every run becomes important, and a single moment of brilliance can change the direction of a match. Batters will need to make their opportunities count, bowlers will have to deliver under pressure, and fielders will need to stay alert from the first ball to the last.
The team that lifts the Winter Cup will need more than individual talent. It will take teamwork, smart decisions, determination and the ability to perform when it matters most.
Who will be crowned Winter Cup champions?
One of the biggest questions heading into December is simple: who will lift the Winter Cup trophy in 2026?
The inaugural Winter Cup in 2025 provided a memorable benchmark. Winn At All Cost finished unbeaten and went on to defeat Daddy Declan’s Dominators by 40 runs in the final, winning 191/6 to 151/6. Tyrone Winn was named Player of the Tournament and Best Batter, while Alex Winn finished as the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets. Evelyn Winn also claimed Best Bowler honours.
Those achievements set the standard for future competitors. However, a new tournament brings a new opportunity. Previous performances may provide confidence, but every team will begin the 2026 competition with the chance to create its own story.
Will Winn At All Cost continue its success? Could another team rise to the challenge and take control of the tournament? Or will a surprise contender emerge to make history?
There is only one way to find out.
The importance of every ball
With matches played in a fast-paced T-5 format, the Winter Cup promises a different challenge from the main T-20 league season.
Teams will need to approach each game with focus and purpose. A quick start with the bat could put pressure on the opposition, while a disciplined bowling performance could make the difference between victory and defeat.
Supporters can expect plenty of opportunities for boundaries, wickets, clever fielding and dramatic finishes. In a short-format competition, there is very little room for complacency. A strong start is valuable, but maintaining concentration until the final delivery will be just as important.
The tournament will also provide players with an opportunity to demonstrate their development, build confidence and represent their teams in a competitive environment.
Every innings will offer a new challenge. Every wicket could shift the momentum. Every victory could bring a team one step closer to the ultimate prize.
More than just cricket
The Winter Cup is about more than the final scorecard. It is an opportunity to bring the Winn Family T-20 League community together during the winter period and celebrate the spirit that makes family cricket special.
From the players competing on the pitch to the officials supporting each fixture, every role contributes to the tournament. Organisation, sportsmanship, respect and teamwork will remain important throughout the four days.
The Winter Cup also provides another opportunity for the league to continue building its competitions and creating memorable occasions for everyone involved. As the event approaches, preparations will focus on delivering a well-organised tournament that gives players the opportunity to compete and supporters something to remember.
Whether it is a brilliant batting performance, a crucial wicket, an excellent catch or a closely contested finish, these are the moments that make tournaments special.
The road to 20 December
With 60 days remaining, the countdown has entered an exciting stage. There is still time for teams to prepare, players to sharpen their skills and everyone involved to look ahead to the competition.
As the opening day approaches, attention will turn towards the fixtures, team preparations, tournament arrangements and the battle for valuable points. Each update will bring us closer to the moment when the first ball is bowled and the Winter Cup officially gets underway.
The tournament is scheduled to run from 20–23 December 2026 at Winnston Park, with the planned playing window running from 09:30 to 16:30.
Four days of winter cricket await, and the goal for every competing team will be the same: perform at your best, compete with pride and give yourself the best possible chance of lifting the trophy.
The final countdown
Sixty days might sound like a long time, but the weeks will pass quickly. Before long, the teams will be preparing for their opening fixtures, the tournament will be underway, and the race for the Winter Cup trophy will begin.
The 2026 edition offers another opportunity to create new memories, celebrate great performances and discover which team can rise above the competition.
The challenge has been set. The countdown has begun. The stage is being prepared.
