๐Ÿ›๏ธ WFA NEWS | YOUR LATEST UPDATES WFA prepares for a bigger and more organised 2027 season

The Winn Family Association (WFA) is preparing to take an even greater role in the organisation, regulation and development of the 2027 cricket season.

As the governing body of the Winn Family T-20 League, the WFA will be responsible for ensuring that the competition is run fairly, safely and consistently throughout the season.

With the 2027 campaign approaching, the Association is continuing to develop its governance structure, competition regulations, match-official pathway and safeguarding arrangements ahead of the new season.

๐Ÿ“ข Official regulations and announcements

Throughout 2027, the WFA will publish official announcements covering important competition matters, including rule changes, regulation updates, fixture amendments, match formats, competition decisions and official clarifications.

Any major changes affecting teams, players, officials or matchdays will be communicated through official WFA channels to ensure everyone has access to the same information.

๐Ÿ Supporting the competition

The WFA will oversee the administrative and regulatory side of the competition, including player eligibility, registration requirements, fixture regulations, matchday procedures and competition rules.

The Association will also publish official information regarding points systems, league-table rules, tie-break procedures, qualification requirements and final regulations where applicable.

๐Ÿง‘โ€โš–๏ธ Developing match officials

Match officials will remain an important part of the WFAโ€™s work in 2027.

The Association will provide guidance and opportunities for umpires, scorers and other match officials, while continuing to develop its official pathway and training opportunities.

The WFA will also recognise officials and volunteers who make an outstanding contribution to the competition.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Safeguarding comes first

Safeguarding will remain one of the WFAโ€™s highest priorities.

The Association will provide clear safeguarding information, reporting guidance, welfare information and training updates throughout the season.

The WFA will always aim to provide a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for everyone involved in the competition.

Where safeguarding or disciplinary matters arise, the WFA will handle them appropriately and will not publish confidential or identifying information where doing so would be inappropriate.

๐Ÿ“š WFA Explains

The WFA will also introduce educational content designed to help players, families, officials and supporters understand the game and how the competition operates.

Through WFA Explains, readers can expect simple guides covering subjects such as the points system, innings, umpiring, scoring, abandoned matches, fixture postponements, player registration and matchday responsibilities.

๐Ÿ“Š Keeping everyone informed

During the season, the WFA will provide regular updates on its work through governance updates, competition reports and official notices.

These updates will help everyone understand what the Association has been working on and what is coming next.

At the end of the 2027 season, the WFA will publish an annual report looking back at the competition, governance activity, officials, participation, key developments and plans for the future.

๐Ÿ† Recognising contribution

The WFA will also celebrate the people who help make the competition possible.

Throughout the year, the Association may recognise match officials, volunteers, teams and individuals through official awards and recognition announcements, including Fair Play and Outstanding Contribution awards.

๐Ÿค Working with partners

The WFA will continue to work with sponsors, partners and organisations that support the development of the competition.

Partnership announcements, sponsor renewals and community initiatives will be shared through official WFA communications.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ One governing body. One official voice.

The WFAโ€™s role is to provide the framework behind the competition โ€” creating clear regulations, supporting officials, protecting participants and ensuring the Winn Family T-20 League continues to develop in a fair and organised way.
