Safety & Important Information

Your safety comes first at the Winn Family League — the 2026 Finals were moved by a day for a heatwave for exactly that reason. This page covers first aid, emergencies, lost children, lost property and the simple ground rules that keep everyone safe and happy.

First aid

The first-aid point is in the main house kitchen. Tell any steward or match official if someone needs help. For life-threatening emergencies call 999 (or 111 for urgent advice).

Emergency procedures

In an emergency, remain calm and follow instructions from match officials, ground staff and venue staff. Leave by the nearest safe exit, do not run or stop in exits, and go straight to the assembly point.

Assembly point

The assembly point is the car park. Wait there until match officials, ground staff or the emergency services confirm it is safe to return. Do not go back for belongings.

Lost children

Tell the nearest steward immediately. Lost children are taken to the information point by the gate, where a member of staff stays with them until they are reunited, and an announcement is made. Parents and guardians should keep children with them at all times.

Lost property

Hand in found items at the information point. To reclaim something after the event, email info@winnfamilyleague.com.

Safeguarding

The Winn Family Association has a safeguarding policy and a named Safeguarding Officer, Deborah Winn. Any concern about a child or vulnerable adult should be raised with a steward, or confidentially through the Association’s report form.

Ground rules

Stay outside the playing area; supervise children; keep phones and belongings with you; follow parking instructions and keep emergency access routes clear; use the bins; follow announcements; and show respect to players, coaches, officials and other visitors.

Cricket balls

Cricket balls can leave the playing area. Stay alert when watching, especially with young children and near the boundary.

Weather

In a heatwave: drink plenty, wear sunscreen and a hat, use the shade and tell a club official if anyone feels unwell. In December expect 2–6°C and possible frost delays: wear layers and gloves. Play pauses for lightning and heavy rain.

Event cancellations

If an event is cancelled, postponed or rescheduled we announce it as a live alert, in Visitor News and on the main website. Ticket holders are contacted by email.

Photography

Photography and filming may take place during fixtures and shows for the league’s website and WinnTV. Please respect other visitors, especially children, when taking your own photos.

Respect

The Winn Family League is family cricket. Please cheer, enjoy the day and respect the players, officials and everyone around you. Abuse of match officials, discrimination, bullying or threatening behaviour is never tolerated and will result in removal from the ground.
